Crossfit

A form of high intensity interval training, performed within “Personal Group Training” classes. CrossFit is a strength and conditioning workout that is made up of functional movements at a high intensity level. These movements are actions that you perform in your day-to-day life, like squatting, pulling, pushing etc.

Personal Training

We will asses your bodily strengths and weaknesses and create customized workout plans. Providing physical and mental guidance while monitoring your progress on a regular basis.

Nutrition

Tailored healthy eating meal plans which are designed based on your goals, whether you want to lose weight, tone up or build lean muscle mass, a proper nutritional plan has to be in place to achieve your objective.

When you start at Verrazano Fitness, your fitness level will improve quickly, usually in the first 30 days. The key to see results is consistency and commitment over time so that’s why we recommend 3 classes per week as a start!
Yes! We provide guidance on eating right or sleeping well which can help maximize energy levels – getting YOU maximum results from your efforts.
Nope! Most of our members start just like you. We assess each new members fitness level. Then our workouts are “universally scaled”, with a different version of each days workout designed for every level. As you level up you can take on more challenging variants of the workout if you desire.

We are locally owned and purpose built to make an impact on the health and happiness in Staten Island and the surrounding area.

You’re not just a number here, everyone knows your name. We’re a community of like-minded people that wants you to show up and supports each other on this journey to live better lives – with no judgement or criticism along the way!

If you’re a beginner and just starting out then 2-4 times per week will be enough to see results and allow you to adjust.

You’ll be sore some days, so allow yourself recovery days between training sessions at first – over the course of the following months work up towards 5 days per week if you want to maximize!

We offer an exciting, challenging and varied programming which will keep it fun! The workouts are published in advance

Some days are more strength focused where will focus on our lifts. Movements like barbell squats, kettlebell swings and occasionally some olympics lifts will be included.

Other days, we may focus more on cardio & conditioning with rowers and bikes. Some days are focused on body weight movements like pushups, sit-ups, and pull-ups. Some days are a mix of everything!

Each class is led by qualified coaches. We always start together with a warm-up designed to activate the muscles being used in the workout.

The coach will brief on the group on the workout, the movements, and the proper form. During the workout, the coach will be guiding and providing instruction.

At the end of class, we will cool down together to accelerate recovery and reduce potential injury.

Erika Quaranta

COACH

Erika stumbled upon CrossFit one day while deciding to try personal training and never looked back. She asked her trainer to teacher her some Olympic weightlifting moves and she immediately fell in love with the sport.

She joined Verrazano Fitness during the pandemic to keep herself accountable and moving and has now been with the gym for three years.

Pushing herself to do more, improve, progress, reach, and maintain goals is key. Always remember to trust the process!

Vincent Caldieri

Online & In Person Coach

Vincent is a personal trainer and fitness model. He has a ton of energy and is really fun to be around! Vincent has a major passion for living a healthy lifestyle and helps every member achieve that goal. He has really helped people change the make up of their bodies, supporting them every step of the way. He specializes in toning and bulking. Vincent is also a student at the prestigious John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Manhattan. He also doesn’t put up with excuses, so let’s get to work!!!!!!!

Kelsey Gonzalez

Registered Dietician

Kelsey Gonzalez is a registered dietitian with a master’s degree in dietetics administration and has been working in the health and nutrition field for over a decade. She achieved her bachelor of Science degree in Foods and Nutrition from San Diego State University and continued on to complete her dietetic internship through Utah State University, where she discovered her passion for nutrition counseling. After five years as a registered dietitian, Kelsey went back to school in order to pursue her master’s degree in dietetic administration at Utah State University, where she focused on business management, entrepreneurship and counseling. She has worked in a variety of settings including weight loss counseling, corporate wellness and sports nutrition with collegiate athletes.

Israel Gonzalez

Head Coach and Manager

Over the years I have worked with many different populations including: semi and professional athletes, geriatric, pediatric, amputees, paraplegic’s and a host of different auto immune disorders. I have gained a wealth of knowledge and can help you achieve your goals safely and efficiently.1

Among other certificatios, I am Crossfit Level 3 trainer CCFT.

I have been blessed to learn from or have been mentored by some of the greatest minds in the coaching world. In turn I have had the honor and privilege of mentoring many of the fitness industries finest trainers. I have been fortunate enough to coach at the Reebok CrossFit Games and had the chance to be a Judge at the CrossFit Games North East Regionals.

I obsess over every detail of every workout ensuring safety, fun and consistent results.

I’m constantly looking for opportunities to enhance my knowledge and increase the value of the services I provide. My philosophy is to always be learning and improving!

Ti'Quan Gray

Coach

Ti’Quan was born and raised in Staten Island NY and is currently a full time coach.

All his life he was a really shy kid with his head always down, always wearing huge sweaters to cover his body, but when he reached the age of 14 his best friend introduced him to a multi-function weight machine. When he did my first curl, he fell in love and knew exactly what he wanted to do with for life. He wanted to use fitness to help people break out of their shell. 

He’s been into health and fitness for 13 years and still learning more and more till this day. 

Outside of coaching, he likes Skateboarding, rock climbing, Broadway, movies and skydiving.

Juan Melo

Gym Manager

Juan Melo, born and raised in Argentina, has an associate degree in Hotel Management and a Bachelor Degree in Marketing, has also a profound interest in technology and how online tools improve the peoples life. Before the pandemic, most of his work was behind a desk and that put him on weight quickly, feeling heavy, older and without stamina. Soon he found that fitness was the best way to feel good, training at home during the lockdown was the best thing he could do since he had the control of his body, physical and mental health. Living proof that these programs work, following our three pillars (exercise, nutrition and accountability) he lost 40lbs in his path, and is eager to show others the right way to reach their goals. In his spare time, he enjoys gaming, motorcycle riding, movies or ‘binge-watching’ a new TV series. A gathering for a nice Argentine barbecue with friends is a must from time to time. Workouts and fitness are part of his daily priorities now, and not something to do “on free times”. By the way, Emma (his yorkie) is his Sr Accountability Assistant, they’ll both hold you accountable through this path to a healthier life!

HOLD POLICY

Month-to-Month Membership Agreements and Annual Membership Agreements: You may place your Membership on hold two (2) times per calendar year up to three (3) consecutive months each time. Advanced notice of at least two (2) business days is required. The hold must be 30 days in duration at a minimum and 30 days must elapse between holds. Upon expiration of the term of the hold, your account will automatically become active and payments will resume. Should you choose to return prior to the end of their hold period, the hold will be released and payments will resume.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All membership agreements require 30-days written notice to cancel your membership. This form will serve as your 30-days written cancellation notice. Note that if you have a scheduled renewal payment within 30-days of your invoice billing date, the payment will be processed as scheduled. Your membership will be canceled at the end of your final paid month. All payments are non-refundable. All grandfathered membership rates will also be forfeited and returning members will be subject to current rates.
